At least 3 days each week we will explore editing skills through the adventures of Hairy Beast at General Animal Hospital!
This will be our daily warm-up! The silly script is above! Just download the file and look for the correct number.
If you are absent (and sometimes you will be) you will need to check the weekly agenda and make up the assignment in your Language Journal
Vocabulary Flip book
This year you will be creating a vocabulary flip book which will last you all year. HOORAY!
I will give you the folder and you will put the flip book together according to the class model on display! We will explore academic vocabulary, literary vocabulary and power words each week.
If you are absent (and sometimes you will be), you will need the notes for the vocabulary we had that week. Check the weekly agenda and then go to the website above and look for the words you missed that week. Add that vocabulary to your flip book
Every day we will tackle a little tiny piece of understanding how our language is put together!
We will do this after our Warm up each day!
At the end of each week, we will have a short assessment on what we learned that week.
If you are absent (and sometimes you will be), you will need the notes. Check with your study buddy or check the weekly agenda. Then go to the website above, click on Archives, and look for the lesson you missed. You will want to take notes in your Language Journal!
We will explore homonyms each week and look to correct all our spelling errors.
While we will not have "spelling" lists and tests, you will be scored on your spelling with each assignment. This will require that you pay attention to your own work. We will be editing each other's work as well as self-correcting.
Some things you will write in class and some things you will write on-line. It doesn't matter. Both require proofreading and care! Carelessness can cost you points on an assignment.
